Homes for Sale in Colorado Springs with Mountain Views
While there are many reasons for folks to move to Colorado Springs (think clean air, good water, friendly people, great school districts) one of the things Springs residents love about our area is the incredible views of the Rocky Mountains.
I have conversations regularly both with people who live here and with those who have visited here and everyone agrees that there is something alluring about the mountains that grace our City. It's hard to explain exactly, but there is a comfort and stability that the Front Range of the Rockies brings to our town. You can see the mountains from nearly anywhere in Colorado Springs and you can easily navigate, knowing they are always to the West. With that in mind, many house hunters are looking for Homes for Sale In Colorado Springs with Mountain Views.
There are many communities here that have excellent views of our most famous mountain, Pikes Peak. Since the mountain is over 14,000 feet high, it is the most prominent feauture around. Some of the subdivisions that provide excellent views are Flying Horse Ranch, Kissing Camels, Cordera and Banning Lewis Ranch. Each of these areas has a different character and feel with home prices varying from the mid-to upper $200's to well above $500,000, but there are homes for nearly anyone's budget.
To give a little depth to these areas, Flying Horse Ranch is a golf course community, located to the North of Colorado Springs, near the U.S. Air Force Academy. It is on the West side of Interstate 25 on the rolling hills that characterize the neighborhood. Formerly a working ranch, it has been transformed into a luxury community complete with large community center, clubhouse and pools. Starting home prices are in the high $300,000's with custom homes easily topping one million dollars.
Kissing Camels is similar in that it is anchored by a large, well-designed golf course, but located closer to the heart of the City (but to the West) and older but stately. The community consists of around 775 acres with 260 acres dedicated to the golf course, and over 340 homes including patio homes, town homes, and single family residences. Estates in Kissing Camels generally are located on larger 1/2 acre lots with prices ranging from $700,000 up to $2.5 million.
Cordera is a newer, family oriented community located off Powers Boulevard slightly more East of the City proper. In this community, you will find a spectacular array of things to do at the Cordera Community Center. From guitar, ballet and art lessons to sports camps, movies in the Grand Lawn Park, holiday festivities, pool parties and fitness classes, the neighborhood calendar of events is chock full of fun for everyone! Visit the Cordera Events Calendar for this month's schedule of events. Plus, Cordera has privately maintained parks, trails all around and cul-de-sac streets. The homes are somewhat more modestly-priced, beginning in the low 300's and ranging upwards to around $700,000.
